During the offseason, the New York Knicks was able to build up their roster by getting a couple of top free agents including Joakim Noah from the Chicago Bulls. However, given Noah's history, a lot of fans and sports analysts questioned the Knicks' decision to sign him.

Earlier in July, the Knicks offered Noah a four-year contract that's worth $72 million. Many viewed this as a very risky move by the team especially since Noah was prone to injuries during his time with the Bulls.

Fans of the Knicks fear that this may happen again in New York. And if it does, the Knicks would end up paying a huge amount of money on a player that they won't be able to use fully for four years.

Aside from his injuries, another issue with Noah is the feud he started in the Bulls. As noted by Big Play, when he was still in Chicago, Noah's antics and general attitude cause a rift within the locker room, particularly between him and Jimmy Butler.

This issue escalated into a feud with the Bulls' front office. Back then, these led to rumors that indicated that Noah will leave the Bulls once free agency begins.

For the Knicks, however, it seems they have a plan in case any of these happens. As noted by All About Knicks, the New York organization is considering bringing in Greg Monroe of the Milwaukee Bucks in case Noah ends up being a disappointment.

In other words, Monroe's status with the team would be similar to that of Brandon Jennings. As noted by Sportsrageous, Jennings was brought in as a free agent before of Derrick Rose. Since Rose's last few seasons with the Bulls were plagued by injuries, the Knicks are planning to use Jennings as a proper alternative in case the point guard gets forced to sit out games.

In Monroe's case, the Knicks already tried to go after him in 2015 but he decided to sign with the Bucks because of his desire to help the team. But since the Bucks were not able to reach the playoffs this year, the Milwaukee organization could be more open to trading him away now.

In order to get Monroe, the Knicks would have to offer a couple of trade options such as Kyle O'Quinn and a future draft pick. Although this seems a bit expensive, getting Monroe will be worth it for the Knicks.
