The New York Knicks are said to be gearing up for a major move involving either a Carmelo Anthony trade or a Derrick Rose trade this NBA season. With these huge contracts out of the way, Phil Jackson would have enough cap space to sign big and rising stars to build a team around Kristaps Porzingis. Does this mean that a Reggie Jackson trade could be happening soon?

The Detroit Pistons are hanging by a thread to be part of the Eastern Conference playoffs this season. Like the Los Angeles Clippers, however, the Andre Drummond team is expected to see major changes in their roster. Fans believe that if the Marcus Morris squad fails to at least make it to the semi-finals of the playoffs this season, the front office would blow up the team and start rebuilding.

The Eastern Conference right now is dominated by none other than the Cleveland Cavaliers, which prides itself of a healthy LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love back from the All-Star break. Just behind them are the Boston Celtics, which might sign either Paul George or Carmelo Anthony soon, and the Washington Wizards led by John Wall and Bradley Beal.

Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan are also far from giving up the fight to the top, with Dwight Howard’s Atlanta Hawks and the Indiana Pacers gunning for a playoffs spot as well. As for the Chicago Bulls, it remains to be seen if the chemistry problems of Jimmy Butler, Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo would push them off their ranking to give way to the Andre Drummond squad.

Given the tight competition, rumors are rife that the Detroit Pistons might just push for a rebuild to be ready for the next season. Among the teams reportedly interested in a Reggie Jackson trade, sources point to the New York Knicks as the best landing spot for him. With Kristaps Porzingis as the centerpoint of the Derrick Rose team, the NBA trade could make sense for both teams.

At this point though, the Detroit Pistons remain noncommital regarding the NBA trade rumor. In fact, head coach Steve Van Gundy shared some of his plans for the team. Notably, the strategies seem to have Reggie Jackson in the middle.

"I want the ball up and down the floor faster," the Detroit Pistons head coach shared. He added, "Reggie's trying to pick up the pace pace some, but everybody's got to play to their strengths too. Reggie's more comfortable at a moderate pace, and that's fine -- we've got a tempo changer on the bench and everything else. I'm OK with that.”

What do you think? Should the Detroit Pistons give in and sign a Reggie Jackson trade? Are they ready for a rebuild? Will the New York Knicks be a good landing spot for the star?
