The New York Knicks are reported to be preparing for a major rebuild starting this NBA season. With a Carmelo Anthony trade anticipated to go through soon, the front office seems to be gearing up to get out of the Derrick Rose contract as well. This leaves the New York Knicks in the hands of Kristaps Porzingis who is still in his sophomore year in the league. However, a Jeremy Lin trade is said to be in the works in an effort to lend support to the Latvian star.

Jeremy Lin is no stranger to the New York Knicks. After all, this is the team that gave him the opportunity to show off the Linsanity. If talks around the league are to be believed, the former Charlotte Hornets star left the Derrick Rose team because of Carmelo Anthony. With the All-Star leader expected to be sent packing soon, will the Linsanity era finally return to the Kristaps Porzingis squad?

Rumors are rife that the Brooklyn Nets' plans when they signed a Jeremy Lin contract in the offseason seem to be backfiring. At the moment, the Brook Lopez team is getting slaughtered in the league partly because of the absence of the Harvard alum in the hardwood court. Although the Jeremy Lin injury reports point to his return, fans believe that the Brooklyn Nets' growth under his leadership has been disappointing so far.

At this point, speculations are circulating that a Jeremy Lin contract would be of better use in the New York Knicks. Despite the talent of Kristaps Porzingis, many believe that he is still too young to solely lead the NBA team. This means he would need a reliable backup from a veteran.

While the Jeremy Lin injury updates remain relevant in any potential trade talk, the Asian-American star is widely recognized as a good leader. Not only that, but the return of the Linsanity era could definitely boost the morale of the New York Knicks fans and players. Compared to Derrick Rose and Carmelo Anthony, comments on Jeremy Lin have been highlighting his positive effect on the community.

"It's the defining test of American masculinity, and Jeremy Lin shows that Asian-American guys can make it," shared Frank Wu, the chairman of an advocacy group called the Committee of 100. "Before Jeremy Lin, not even Asian-Americans thought of Asian-American guys as athletes. We thought of ourselves as brainy nerds and geeks."

What do you think? Will the Linsanity be a good addition to the New York Knicks? Will Kristaps Porzingis benefit from a Jeremy Lin contract especially with the rumored impending exit of Carmelo Anthony?
