The Russell Westbrook stats this NBA season have been nothing short of spectacular, with the Oklahoma star surpassing the records of Stephen Curry, LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Despite his impressive season, however, the Steven Adams team still struggles in the sixth seed with the Los Angeles Clippers, Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets ahead of them. The Enes Kanter team definitely needs more wins to catch up with the Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs. Will a Carmelo Anthony contract be the answer to their woes?

The exit of Kevin Durant, who later on became teammates with Stephen Curry in the Golden State Warriors, has crippled the Oklahoma City Thunder in the hardwood court. Although Russell Westbrook has been said to be in the running for the MVP award this season, it is undeniable that he needs another superstar in the roster if they plan to unseat the Dub Nation as kings of the Western Conference. Will the New York Knicks star be the best option for them?

Rumors are rife of a divorce between the New York Knicks and Carmelo Anthony soon. With the All-Star seemingly open to NBA trade discussions since last season, basketball teams have been lining up to make their best offer. Speculations name the Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers as very interested parties in the trade. However, the Oklahoma City Thunder seems to be serious contenders as well as Carmelo Anthony reportedly wants to land in a team that has realistic NBA Finals potential.

"Sometimes you need to get in a new environment and feel a different type of energy and vibe," shared Carmelo Anthony of his future in the NBA. He added on the New York Knicks' standing, "I've come to grips with that. I had times to think about that over how many weeks it's been, trying to utilize time to clear my mind and be at peace with it - our situation."

At this point, no official comment has been made by the parties tagged in this NBA rumor. However, Oklahoma City Thunder fans believe that the addition of a Carmelo Anthony contract will definitely bolster the Russell Westbrook stats already impressing the league today. As for the New York Knicks fans, it appears that they have finally come to accept that a rebuild is necessary to move forward.
