The San Antonio Spurs are dominating the NBA playoffs, beating the Memphis Grizzlies with such efficient and impressive plays that many now see them realistically taking home the championship trophy. To get to that goal, however, Kawhi Leonard and his team need to get past the likes of the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers. While the LaMarcus Aldridge team look every bit the future NBA champions, the dynamic team up of Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant as well as the do-or-die attitude of LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving stand in their way. Will a Derrick Rose contract make a difference in their quest to go back to the Tim Duncan glory days?

The New York Knicks and Derrick Rose have been open with their desire to once again work together. However, NBA rumors regarding the potential Kristaps Porzingis trade if Carmelo Anthony leaves the team have fueled fans' belief that Phil Jackson's decision could be vetoed these days. While no official comment has been given by the parties tagged in this rumor, reports claim that the Derrick Rose-Phil Jackson lovefest in New York might end soon. However, all is not lost for the former Chicago Bulls star as a number of NBA teams seem to still be interested in signing a Derrick Rose contract.

Rumors are rife that the San Antonio Spurs remain optimistic that the right support system could help Derrick Rose regain his former glory. With the right pieces surrounding him in the hardwood court, experts feel that the New York Knicks star would be able to once again dominate the league. In fact, some would even venture to say that he has the ability to win the MVP title a second time.

"If I was a betting man I'd say it happens again," said Dr. Armin Tehrany, an orthopedist surgeon and knee specialist at Manhattan Orthopedic Care, of the chances of Derrick Rose winning the MVP title again.

He added, "When I watch him and see how he plays, I think it's because [of] how incredibly explosive he is. He drives to the basket so much. The speed that he's able to move, his explosive style, that puts a lot more pressure on his knees and his body. That could lead to a breakdown. The mind can be much more powerful than the body. What the mind wants to do and what the body can accommodate unfortunately isn't the same."

This could be good news for the teams reportedly interested in signing a Derrick Rose contract. With the work Gregg Popovich did to help Pau Gasol return to his old explosive self and become an instrumental player to boost the performance of Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge, fans of the New York Knicks star believe the same could happen to their idol. However, keep in mind that this possibility remains at the NBA rumor stage and has yet to actually be commented on by the parties involved.
