The San Antonio Spurs are having a historically spectacular NBA season this year. Amid the injuries of star players Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green and LaMarcus Aldridge, the runners up to the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference are considered threats to the throne of Stephen Curry and his crew. As the Tony Parker squad continue to dominate the NBA playoffs 2016, a pressing concern linked to its players arose - one that has been worrying fans for months now. That is, reports are surfacing that Tim Duncan might soon retire.

Duncan, who has been widely recognized as one of the best players not only of the San Antonio Spurs but also of the entire NBA, is reportedly targeting his exit from the league soon. While this is feasible given his age and injuries, some fans still doubt the plan. The reason behind their questions on the possible retirement of Duncan is rooted from the lack of fanfare related to the big change. In fact, fans are wondering why the San Antonio Spurs star is not getting a farewell tour like Kobe Bryant - one that had the Los Angeles Lakers star in the spotlight throughout the NBA season.

"Not my deal," responded Duncan to the question of a Kobe Bryant farewell tour for him. The San Antonio Spurs star added, "Not my style."

The same news was confirmed by other sports insiders. Pointing out the nature of Duncan, experts believe that the San Antonio Spurs star will shun any emotional display in the hardwood court. Hence, Leonard, Aldridge and Green are not expected to share interviews about Duncan's life in the NBA anytime soon - yet another thing different from the Black Mamba who received heartwarming messages from D'Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance, Jr. Even veteran stars in the NBA, such as Kevin Durant, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, paid tribute during the farewell tour of Kobe Bryant.

"Tim Duncan's San Antonio Spurs are in the playoffs and one of the year's best stories, but Kobe Bryant's retirement extravaganza outshined Duncan and Co. at every turn this year," noted Chris Roling of the Sports Daily.

He added, "Call Duncan the anti-Bryant. The Spurs look great with him and when he leaves without so much as a string of sentences, the franchise will continue to grow and contend, slotting in another contributor in his cap-space void and gunning for another title. Duncan is the Spurs and vice versa, a culture not prone for the spotlight, just titles."

At the moment, Tim Duncan has yet to officially announce his retirement. Throughout the NBA season, even before the Kobe Bryant farewell tour started, the San Antonio Spurs have been plagued with rumors linked to the exit of Duncan from the hardwood court. Despite relentless questioning by the fans and the media, no information on the future of Tim Duncan with the San Antonio Spurs has been revealed.
