NBA Trade Rumors: Cavaliers Take Jabari Parker; Leave Jazz Trade of Derrick Favors, Alec Burks, Picks On Table

With the NBA draft set for tomorrow, June 26, many teams are hustling to try and have any trades they want to negotiate in order, or to make the offers before the selections are chosen.

The Utah Jazz are one such team.  They reportedly are offering a trade package that includes Derrick Favors, Alec Burks and the No. 5 pick of the 2014 NBA draft for the Cleveland Cavaliers' first overall pick.  

Unfortunately for the Jazz, Cleveland is looking less and less likely to trade down.

According to  ESPN's Jeff Goodman and Chad Ford, Cleveland is "torn" between selecting Jabari Parker or Andrew Wiggins.

"They are torn," one source close to the situation told ESPN.com. "They met for three hours, and all they talked about was those two guys."

After being left out of postseason the last two years, Utah appears ready to make a major move to get back into serious contention.  According to Jazz beat writer Jody Genessy, in a tweet he made on Monday, the Jazz are offering up Derrick Favors, Alec Burks and No. 5 pick to Cavs for the No. 1 selection and Jarrett Jack. Utah selected Burks in 2011 with the No. 12 pick in the first round, and he averaged a respectable 14.0 points per game last season.  Favors was the third overall in the 2010 draft, and he spent the last four seasons in Utah, averaging 13.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game last season.

The Cavaliers have to really consider this before they pull the trigger.  They might be better off keeping the No. 1 pick and having their pick of the litter in the upcoming draft, even though this trade would free up some salary space.   Ford reports Cleveland is trying to decide between Parker, who's the most NBA-ready player of the class in many experts opinion, and Wiggins, who has the best physical package.  

Ford, as well as many other other experts had Joel Embiid going No. 1 before  The 7-footer's recent foot surgery.  Although the foot is expected to heal in 4-6 months, many analyst think his draft stock has declined enough to push him out of the top 5.
