New rumors suggest that the Boston Celtics are looking to acquire Khris Middleton and Greg Monroe from the Milwaukee Bucks. However, it is not yet clear if a trade will happen since negotiations between these two teams are reportedly still ongoing.

For some time now, the Celtics have been on the lookout for quality players who could possibly take the team's roster to another level. Although the team currently holds eight spots in the NBA Draft, it seems going after young athletes is not enough for the Boston team.

Aside from upcoming NBA stars, the Celtics also want to build a roster composed of seasoned players. This is probably why the team has always been the center of trade rumors.

Recently, it was rumored that the Celtics were eyeing Middleton and Monroe of the Bucks. Originally, it was believed that Boston was ready to offer its No. 16 and No. 23 picks as well as another player in exchange for these two athletes, NESN reported.

However, as basketball fans saw, the Celtics have used up all of its draft picks for the first and second round, which means the team had already used up its supposed bargaining chips for the trade.

But, even after the draft, rumors about a trade involving Middleton still persist, which could signify that the Celtics are still in talks with the Bucks for an exchange.

As noted by Boston.com, it would be a wise move for the Celtics to go after Middleton. For one, at age 24, he is still a very young player, which means the Boston franchise can offer him a long-term contract that would secure his place in the roster for the next three or four years.

In addition, Middleton currently has an annual average value of $14 million, which is pretty low considering his skills on the court. This is probably the reason why Celtics are reportedly trying to get Middleton as well as another Bucks player, which in this case is Monroe.

But then again, now that the Celtics have used up their draft picks, it's a bit hard to speculate what it will do in order to convince Milwaukee to give up Middleton and Monroe.
