The Miami Heat has been quite open about the NBA team's desire to trim down on its expenses this season. One of the ways by which the Miami Heat intends to cut off on their costs is to get rid of NBA stars who have extremely high salaries. With this in mind, the NBA team is reportedly looking very closely to getting rid of two highly-paid players in their roster: Mario Chalmers and Chris Andersen.

Sources reveal that the NBA rumors regarding the potential conclusion of Chalmers' contract with the Miami Heat are rife. According to Sun Sentinel (via Slam Online), the Miami Heat are extremely eager to "offload" the luxury tax hit brought about by Chalmers' salary. While getting rid of this expense is an attractive prospect for the NBA, finding a replacement for Chalmers or at least receiving a good deal in exchange remains the priority for the Miami team.

Among the teams reportedly interested in bagging Chalmers, the Los Angeles Lakers figures prominently. Bringing in Chalmers into the Los Angeles team will be a huge boost to the performance of point guard D'Angelo Danté Russell, whom the Miami Heat player could mentor should he make the move to the Lakers sometime soon. Although the Miami Heat is reportedly aggressively seeking out ways to obtain a good trade for Chalmers, the NBA team need not fret as the luxury tax bill will only be computed by the end of the season. Hence, Chalmers and the Miami Heat could still work out an agreement should the two decide that the current arrangement is the best option for both of them.

Apart from Chalmers, the LA Lakers appear to be eyeing younger NBA stars in an effort to bolster their roster and provide assistance to veteran Kobe Bryant. Sports World Report revealed that JaVale McGee, a former Philadelphia 76ers star, might be heading to the Lakers locker room in the future. While the free agent offers a promising addition to the Los Angeles squad, the Lakers might be wary in signing him as the NBA star is known to have suffered from a number of injuries in the past. Prior to the Lakers, McGee had been eagerly pursued by the Dallas Mavericks but no agreement was reached by both parties.

As for Andersen, the Miami Heat center is reportedly being eyed by the Dallas Mavericks and the New York Knicks, according to Inquistr. With the recent acquisitions of the Miami Heat in the form of big men Josh McRoberts and Amar'e Stoudemire, the presence of Andersen in the court may no longer be quite as necessary. Hence, his current pay may be deemed as an unnecessary expense for the NBA team eagerly looking for ways to reduce their luxury tax bill.

While no news regarding his future with the Miami Heat is confirmed at the moment, one this is for sure though: Andersen can act. In a recent episode of the hit television series, "Ballers," the Birdman is seen showing off his acting chops as he squares off with none other than Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in one of the scenes. According to CBS Sports, the Miami Heat center actually managed to look convincing in portraying his role - with notable moments including his furious reaction to the comment regarding LeBron James' move to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
