On January 26, the National Council of Churches USA executive staffs paid a visit to the headquarters of the government-registered Protestant Church in China, according to Chinese Protestant Church's website.

NCC President Archbishop Vicken Aykazian and General Secretary Michael Kinnamon and other NCC staffs were welcomed by China Christian Council President Gao Feng on behalf of “lianghui” or Three-Self Patriotic Movement and the China Christian Council.

During their meeting, the national TSPM Presbyter Xian-wei Fu gave an introduction of the development situation of TSPM/CCC’s ministries and churches; TSPM Secretary General Xiao-Hong Xu and CCC General Secretary Pao-ping Quan addressed the visitor’s questions on China’s theological education, social services, and etc.

Kinnamon said that NCC USA will do what they can to support various ministries of China’s churches, and he hope that China’s Church can once again hold a Bible Exhibition in the America at suitable times. They’ve further conversed on topics such as environmental protection and poverty elimination, etc.

Then, CCC vice General Secretary and the chief editor of “Heavenly Wind” publication Rev. Wei-xian Dan did an interview with Kinnamon.

NCC was founded in 1950 and has been the leading force for ecumenical cooperation among Christians in the United States. The NCC's member faith groups — from a wide spectrum of Protestant, Anglican, Orthodox, Evangelical, historic African American and Living Peace churches — include 45 million persons in more than 100,000 local congregations in communities across the nation.
