Winona Ryder stars in new Netflix Series coming in July called 'Stranger Things' Netflix

Netflix is continuing to roll out original show series and movies. On the ninth, they just released a trailer of a new show series that has audiences comparing it to a love child of Steven Spielberg and J.J. Abrahms or Steven King. The show is called Stranger Things.

The plot synopsis posted under the trailer says it is, "A love letter to the supernatural classics of the 80's, Stranger Things is the story of a young boy who vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl."

The scenes in the trailer do resemble E.T. quite a bit. Kids on bikes, riding through the forest, strange men in white hazmat suits, An 80s boy going to a backyard shed. It all looks very familiar.

Winona Ryder will appear on the show as the mother of this boy that vanishes, her first time starring on a television series. Finn Wolfhard, known for his role in the 2017 Stephen King's movie version of IT, will have the leading male child role. Other cast members are David Harbour, Millie Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Cara Buono, Charlie Heaton, and Matthew Modine.

Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer (Wayward Pines and Hidden) are the masterminds behind this new series- writing, directing and standing as executive producers- along with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen under 21 Laps (The Spectacular Now, Night at the Museum, Real Steel, Date Night).

Here is the trailer posted by Netflix to YouTube

Fans of supernatural genre shows, and maybe 80s kids might enjoy binge watching the entire eight episodes of Stranger Things, whichwill be available on Netflix streaming on July 15th.
