Those that enjoyed Aziz Ansari from when he played the trend-following and enthusiastic Tom on Parks and Recreation should know that he has his show known as Master of None. Master of None is another Netflix show that is free from showing certain censorship restrictions of other network shows, and also released its season all at once. The show has been receiving a lot of critical and commercial acclaim, which leads many to wonder if there will be a Master of None Season 2. Considering that Master of None is one of Netflix's hit shows, it is a matter of when the announcement will come.
Like what Netflix is prone to do, Master of None released the entire first season (all ten episodes) on November 6, 2015. The show has gained a lot of critical acclaim since then and achieved a 100 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes. It has also received a pretty high 8.5 rating on IMDB.
The issue with Netflix is that they tend to be very slow when it comes to announcing their renewal. It isn't like a network, who knows how well a show is doing by the time the season ends. With Netflix, they release the entire season, and then wait to see if the public is still feeling good about the show over a month later.
This happened with Daredevil, a show that was binge-watched by many last Spring upon its time of release, but didn't get officially renewed until months later. The same thing also happened once Netflix released Longmire Season 4, and the show has been renewed for a Season 5 only recently, despite having a huge hit season with a big fanbase. Even now, shows like Jessica Jones which received comparable ratings to Master of None have still not been officially renewed.
The issue is that usually Netflix does get around to renewing shows like this. Bustle reveals that Aziz and co-showrunner Alan Yang haven't heard anything, but they have no shortage of ideas. Aziz has quite a career as a professional comedian and book author as well as an actor, and he has several ideas about relationships and other subjects that haven't been yet explored on his show in Season 1.
For those what aren't watching Master of None, the show involves Aziz Ansari playing a wannabe actor named Dev Shah living in New York City. Episodes involve him in relationships that are not meaningful, as well as an attempt to get his acting career going. The show's set-up is that sense of semi-biographical realism that can be found on FX's Louie and other shows that don't hold back from showing that life can be very unfair to downright cruel.
