Young Christians coming from different churches will be spending this long bank holiday weekend in a meaningful way. Across UK, they will be taking part in three days of social action to help create a better environment for their community in this annual national event- The Noise.

The aim for The Noise is to get young people involved in their communities and communicate the good news of Jesus Christ through actions, as well as words.

It encourages churches and youth groups to unite and serve their communities together. The Noise claims that it is promoting a lifestyle of serving one another among the churches and young people.

Noise is an expression of faith in action, referring the scripture James 2: 18 “I will show you my faith by my works.”

Swindon Youth For Christ, is not the first time joining this national event. Co-ordinator Hannah Frith said, "Last year more than 100 young people from Swindon, Highworth and Faringdon got involved.”

Planting new vegetable beds at Penhill's community orchard, revamping the community centre garden in Walcot and painting at Wind- mill Court old people's home in Freshbrook are just a few of the projects planned this year.

"One elderly lady, who could no longer do any gardening due to severe arthritis, said how grateful she was to the young people for the beautiful low maintenance garden they created for her." Hannah shared her experience last year.

Hannah explained that The Noise was about making a difference in communities across the country and attempting to dispel the myth that young people are all vandals or sit around doing nothing.

The Noise is one of the events of the Soul Survivor, a ministry associated with churches focusing on youth evangelical work through lively and creative means.
