This Labor Day weekend, the Gospel Music Association (GMA) will unveil the Museum of Christian & Gospel Music (The C&G), a long-awaited addition to the city's rich musical heritage.
Situated near the historic Ryman Auditorium, The C&G is designed to honor and celebrate the diverse history and evolution of Christian and gospel music.
According to Gospelmusic, Steve Gilreath, the museum's Executive Director, shared his excitement about the project:
"The Christian music industry has been rooted in Nashville for decades, and people have dreamed of this museum for just as long. Now, right in the heart of downtown, we’re creating a space where people can touch the music that has touched us all."
The museum promises an immersive and interactive experience, allowing visitors to explore stories of faith and transformation, listen to influential gospel songs, and even remix iconic tracks on-site. Beyond its exhibits, The C&G will also feature live performances, workshops, artist interviews, and special events, ensuring a dynamic and engaging environment for all attendees.
In preparation for its grand opening, the museum is offering special inaugural ticket pricing, exclusive commemorative items, and Founding Memberships. Those interested in being part of this historic moment can find more information and purchase tickets at cgmmuseum.org.
The launch of The C&G marks a major milestone in preserving and promoting the legacy of Christian and gospel music. By creating a dedicated space for reflection, education, and celebration, it solidifies Nashville’s reputation as the heart of this deeply influential musical genre.
