Naturally, this is not set in stone as Google can change their release schedule at any time. In fact, one unconfirmed report suggests that Nexus 5 2015 will be ready much earlier than anticipated.

Android M Rumored to Launch Same Time as New Nexus

Recently, GeekSnack quoted an alleged insider as stating that the "joint launch of the New Nexus and Android M is a sure thing". The publication also claims that the Nexus 5 2015 will come with a 5.3-inch screen, Snapdragon 810 processor, 3 GB RAM, USB Type C, 16MP rear camera, and removable battery. There may be 64 and 128 GB of internal storage.

Announced at this year's Google I/O conference, the mysterious Android M is the successor to the previous Android Lollipop operating system. Very little detail has been released so far. Undoubtedly, more will be revealed in the coming months. For now, users have been told that Google is placing emphasis on improving security and increasing battery life with the upcoming firmware.

Earlier in May, GottaBeMobile reported that Android M will be shipping out in Q3 2015. Provided that predictions are true, Google may be deviating from its usual November launch schedule for Nexus and Android OS successors. Hence, it is possible that consumers will see Android M somewhere between July and September.

If GeekSnack's report is accurate, there may be a possibility that Android 5 2015 will be released in the third quarter instead. Still, Google may hold back the new Nexus and release Android M first. For now, consumers will need to wait for more information from the Mountain View-based company.

Is Huawei Working on a New Nexus

A recent report by IBTimes UK claims that China-based Huawei is collaborating with Google in releasing a new device in the West. The mystery device may be available to consumers in as early as later this year, according to the publication.

Huawei is currently the largest smartphone manufacturer in China. The company has long been alleged to have close ties with China's central government. Over the years, some observers have expressed concerns that Huawei's products may open the way to spying in the United States.

In the mean time, Google may not be working with Huawei alone. Previous reports indicate that LG may be working with Google on another Nexus device. That means there are potentially two new Nexus handsets in the works.
