Going into the Wild Card playoffs round, the Saints, along with San Francisco 49ers, have clinched the National Football Conference (NFC) wild cards. The Eagles have clinched the NFC East division title. Since Week 13, the Eagles have won four games except the 30-48 loss to Minnesota Vikings, but the Saints have won only two, but lost three games.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees have led the offenses with 5,162 pass yards and 39 touchdowns at 650 attempts, and has relied heavily on tight end Jimmy Graham, who has caught 86 passes and put down 1,215 yards and 16 touchdowns. Although the Saints' offenses are No. 2-ranked in pass yards and No. 4-ranked in total yards a game in the league, they still fall short in total yards a game when compared with that of the Eagles, who has the leagues No. 1 rush offenses

Moreover, the Eagles have the league's No. 2 ranked total yards per game and No. 4-ranked scores (27.6) a game. Quarterback Nick Foles passed 27 touchdowns and 2,891 yards at 317 attempts; Michael Vick added 5 touchdowns and 1,215 yards at 141 attempts. On the ground, running back LeSean McCoy leads Philadelphia's rush offenses with 1,607 yards and 9 touchdowns at 314 carries; Bryce Brown has 314 rush yards, 2 touchdowns; Foles carried 3 rush touchdowns and 221 yards at 57 carries; Vick carried 306 yards and 2 touchdowns at 36 attempts; and Chris Polk carried 98 yards and 3 touchdowns at 36 attempts.

Eagles linebacker DeMeco Ryans leads the defenses with 127 tackles, 25 assists and 4 sacks; Mychal Kendricks added 106 tackles, 25 assists and 4 sacks. Meanwhile, the Saints' defenses MLB Curtis Lofton has 125 sacks and 43 assists; DE Cameron Jordan contributed to 12.5 sacks and Junior Galette added 12 more sacks. They are ranked No. 2 in pass defense, yielding only 194.1 yards, No. 4 in total yards a game (305.7), and No. 4 in points yielded (19).

While the Saints may have one of the top pass defenses in the league, their rush defense, ranked at No. 19th, will have a tough time stopping the No. 1 rush offense opponents. Just looking at the two teams' defensive and offensive comparison, the chances are that the Eagles will win the wild card game in the first round playoffs. Also, judging by the result of the wins and losses ratio in the last five games, the Eagles have the greatest chance of advancing towards the NFC division round on January 11, 2014.
