Billy Graham Crusade Counselor Training Course “The Christian Life and Witness Course” has entered the second stage in various parts of New York City. At this stage, the main focus of this stage is on counseling and follow-ups.

In the aspect of witnessing, the course provides five reminders to the crusade counselors: Using life to witness, so the Lord Jesus Christ can be revealed through me; listening to others with heart of sincerity will allow the person to open up his/her heart; Avoid using testimonies like a formula, but for each person you should use appropriate verses and testimonial contents; Do not only speak about sin, but emphasize more on the love of God as the connecting point; need to explain in a simple and clear way. Anyways, it is to“Listen to his story, share your story, and proclaim the story of Jesus Christ.”

The course also analyzed the reasons why most people refuse to believe: my sins have been pointed out; arrogance; procrastination (accepted Jesus Christ in thoughts, but fear to make changes in life); do not know how to follow Jesus Christ. It provided answers for each of them.

In the aspect of follow-ups, the courses also introduced various stages of follow-ups, the course demands that the crusade counselor know how to “take care of new believers until they become a member of a church, finds their position of serving so that they can reveal their potential for the glory of Christ and the building of church of Christ.”

Meanwhile, every crusade counselor received a pamphlet, “Living in Christ” along with complementary information on evangelism, which includes Bible verses, bible-study courses, daily devotional information, and information card for the crusade counselor and the person evangelized.

The course speaker also encouraged them to participate in a very important part of Billy Graham Crusade – “Operation Andrew”, where each person will pray for seven people, who can be both relatives and friends, and then bring them to the crusade.

The second stage of the five-course class, “The Christian Life and Witness Course” has come to an end completely. After the course ended in Manhattan’s course training place, Overseas Chinese Mission, many participants seek and asked for lecture notes for further studying at home, and they also stated that they will review the material before the Crusade.

Sister Vicky from OCM said that she has also participated in similar types of training at her church, but this is the first time that she has participated in a crusade of this size. Through the course training, she has benefited much, and she also saw much of her insufficiencies. However, she said that she is not afraid, “If God really wants to use you, then you will be used greatly.”

June 24, Friday 7:30pm
