Time is really changing.

And the wind of change is blowing into the fashion scene as the entertainment and sports management company WMG/IMG is completely reinventing fashion week by making it more accessible to the public.

According to the New York Times reports, WME/IMG has introduced several new innovations to allow you to watch your favorite designers' latest collections, as well as the models walk the runways without leaving the comfort of your homes, particularly those who cannot attend the runway shows.

Gone are the days of buying expensive tickets to watch the fashion shows. You can watch the New York Fashion Week Live for free on your laptops, computers and even smartphones. The New York Fashion Week official starts on Thursday, Sept. 10 and will run through Thursday, Sept. 17.

WME/IMG, which owns and operates 13 fashion weeks around the world, including New York Fashion Week, London and Milan, wants the Fashion Week to move away from its traditional "event by the trade, for the trade," and make it much more inclusive, starting with NYFW, the report said.

WME/IMG chief executive Ariel Emanuel, said he believes that fashion is like a form of entertainment, like sports, movies, television and books as such, the industry should be entertaining more people and not just the industry itself.

Emanuel was quoted as saying, "When we look at the world, we see fashion, sports, movies, TV, books: They are all just different aspects of global entertainment consumption."

According to the report, the changes introduced by WME/IMG "Is is the future of fashion - or one possible version of it, as imagined by, the entertainment and sports management behemoth."

The report further stated, "And the future starts on Thursday, a.k.a. Day 1 of New York Fashion Week. Though the 2013 acquisition of IMG by WME and the investment firm Silver Lake Partners was completed a year ago, this is the first season that its effect will be felt on the 'official' part of New York Fashion Week (the two main venues, the centralized press and guest headquarters) and MADE, the highly curated new-designer showcase WME/IMG also owns. No longer simply an event by the trade, for the trade, fashion week is being treated by WME/IMG as something else entirely."

A number of online shows, including BCBG, Desigual, Project Runway, Betsy Johnson, Nicole Miller, Prabal Gurung and Calvin Klein are expected to broadcast the New York Fashion Week Live. There will also be repeat shows in between live broadcasts featuring the latest Summer/Spring 2016 collection. The video stream can be watched here. The New York Fashion Week official web site is also offering free live-streaming every show, starting with Nicholas K at 9 a.m. and Rebecca Vallance at 9:30 a.m. here.

You can also watch the New York Fashion Week for free using mobile app that is available to download. The app will show clips of certain shows, as well as behind-the-scenes footage.
