Going into Week 15, the Panthers is ranked 2nd in NFC South. Their No. 2 ranked overall defense will be impenetrable by the Jets in Sunday's game. Carolina have allowed the lowest points (14.5), 2nd lowest yards (296.2), and 5th lowest pass yards (216.8), and No. 1 rush defense (79.4).

Panthers' second year quarterback Cam Newton has led the team with 20 pass touchdowns at 2,776 yards and six rush touchdowns at 495 rush yards. The teams' top receivers, including Greg Olson, Brandon LaFell, Steve Smith, and Ted Ginn, have contributed a total of 18 touchdowns.

Meanwhile, the Jets have been struggling to stay afloat and is likely to be removed from the playoff pictures soon. They are ranked 3rd in AFC East, and their offense is ranked 31st among the 32 teams in the league, making them the second lowest scoring team in NFL. However, the Jets have maintained a No. 2 rank in rush defense.

Thus, the Panthers' Newton may not be able to pull off rush touchdowns as he has done so far, but is expected to make pass plays to win the game.
