It is good to end the year with joy and celebration. On New Year's Eve, a million of people are expected to gather in Times Square to end the year with a bang. Aside from people who will watch the event on the ground, the Times Square ball drop will be broadcasted for billions who will watch it around the world.

Now, we'll give the details about how to watch online, TV channel and tips for the Thursday night's festivities.

Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve (ABC) - At 8 o'clock pm., Ryan Seacrest will once again host the televised Times Square party with singer Fergie. They will be joined with a pack of this year's chart-topping artists like Carrie Underwood, Macklemore, Fall Out Boy, Nick Jonas and Ryan Lewis. In addition, Taylor Swift will launch her music video for her new single "Out of the Woods."

New Year's Eve Live (CNN) - Starting at 8 p.m., the unique combination of hosts will return for the most charming and informative telecast of the night.  Comedienne Kathy Griffin and Anderson Coopers will grace the CNN's telecast of Times Square New Year's eve celebration. They will also be joined by Richard Quest, Brooke Baldwin and Don Lemon from New Orleans. Moreover, CNN reporters are deployed around the world to witness how the year will end in different parts of the globe.

For those who can't go to Times Square to watch the party, they can visit TimesSquareNYC.org for live online streaming. The official Times Square Ball App is also available on Apple's App Store and Google Play for tablets, phones and other devices.

According to the official website of Times Square, the best viewing spots are those along Broadway (43rd-50th Streets). If that area is already full, check the Seventh Avenue up to the 59th Street.

Authorities said the earlier you arrive, the better. Video screens will be set up at 1 Times Square.

The New York Police Department also announced that they will be closing down parts of the Times Square on Dec. 31 from 43rd St. to Broadway and will continue to move north as people arrive.

"I certainly understand that everyone's concerned and I want everyone to understand and to hear that the NYPD is ready," said Mayor Bill de Blasio in published statement from Yahoo News. The mayor assured that the city is secured amidst global fears of an attack during New Year's Eve celebrations.
