Nexus 5 2nd Generation, better known as Nexus 5 2015, is the rumored successor in Google's line of smartphones. As such, details concerning this device are based mainly on hearsay. The latest gossip suggests that the second generation Nexus 5 is coming this fall. In the meantime, the Android 6.0 M Update is set to be the new operating system on all Google devices.

When Will the Nexus 5 2015 Be Out

At this time, the Nexus 5 2nd Gen belongs in the imagination of the rumor mill. That is because Google has yet to name the successor to the original Nexus 5. In fact, the company did not introduce any new device at its Google I/O conference this year.

Even so, Google showcased the new Android M operating system, which is expected to be a part of every new Android-based device including the Nexus 5 2015. According to PCAdvisor, that Android M will be included with the new Nexus 5 when the former ships out this fall. The publication also believes that the device will go on sale in November 2015.

Google has a longstanding practice of unveiling and shipping out new Nexus devices in autumn. Naturally, any operation is subject to chance. However, it is worth considering that the tech giant unveils new devices every year - particularly in the months leading to the holiday seasons.

For now, there is little to no detail regarding the specs and price for this new handset. Even so, Google may reveal more details about the fabled Nexus 5 2nd Gen at a later date.

Android M Nickname Still Pending

Android M features major updates that apparently improve web operation, app functions and permissions, fingerprint security, power and charging, and mobile payments. The upcoming firmware also includes significant bug fixes.

Google has a habit of naming its Android operating systems after confectionaries. It is difficult to say what "M" will stand for. For instance, Android 5.0 Lollipop was initially called Android L.

It is likely that Google will change the latest OS designation to Android 6.0, while granting a new nickname starting with the letter M. Once again, the company will borrow the name of a sweet snack. Previous Android pseudonyms included Cupcake, Donut, Éclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat, and Lollipop.

Popular predictions for Android M include muffin, milkshake, marshmallow, mint, moon pie, macaroon, and meringue pie. One interesting theory claims that Google is using the nickname 'Macadamia Nut Cookie' (MNC). For now, Android users can only keep guessing about Android M's nickname
