The rumor mill is at it again, and this time predictions hint at the possibility of seeing a fingerprint sensor on the upcoming Nexus 6.

Sadly, the Nexus 6 may be the last of its kind following rumors that Google may be nixing the entire Nexus line by 2015. The validity of this claim is naturally questionable, but this has not stopped rumors from being repeatedly murmured across the web. Based on a recent report by Android Geeks claiming insider knowledge, Nexus 6 may be influenced in design from the LG's flagship G3 device, which at this time is still under development. The fingerprint sensor is one such LG technology that may possibly end up in the Nexus 6.

But, similarities may be deceiving as a GForGames report claims that the Nexus 6 will only have the dumb-down version of the G3's fingerprint sensor. The same report also said that Nexus 6 will be a "lightweight spin-off on the aforementioned LG G3...with vanilla Android out of the box and certain features...missing."

How the Nexus 6 really looks is up to speculation, but there is growing consensus that the phone will resemble its LG G3 counterpart. Of note, a purported photo of the LG G3 back cover was leak on the GSMArena site last week. It is generally believed by some that the Nexus 6 will conceptually be similar in appearance to the LG G3. However, the actual size of the Nexus 6 is still a matter of debate.

There is no word as to exactly when the Nexus 6 will be released. But rumors persist especially after Google's Senior Vice President Sundar Pichai gave a release date sometime in the second half of this year, during the 2014 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
