The Pittsburgh Steelers had been struggling since losing Ben Roethlisberger in Week 3 of the regular NFL season. Throughout the games sans the star quarterback, the Pittsburgh Steelers relied heavily on backup quarterback Michael Vick. When even Vick found himself suffering from injuries, the Pittsburgh Steelers depended on the third man in line Landry Jones to hopefully keep the team afloat until the return of leader Roethlisberger. Hence, the return of Big Ben in the football field undoubtedly lifted the spirits of the Pittsburgh Steelers and fueled the ferocity of its NFL stars.

However, it looks like the positive effect of Ben Roethlisberger's return won't last long as the Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback is once again sidelined due to injury. 

While the NFL team brought home a win in its recent match against the Oakland Raiders, the victory was marred by the sight of Ben Roethlisberger getting placed on the sidelines as the Pittsburgh Steelers suspected the quarterback to have incurred a LisFranc injury to his left foot. 

To prevent Ben Roethlisberger from further injuries, the team halted his participation in the Oakland Raiders match. This move saw Landry Jones finish the football game as subsequent for Big Ben.

As per recent reports, it had been revealed that Ben Roethlisberger will be off the football field for a few weeks. The injury he incurred during the Oakland Raiders football face off proved to be a mid-foot sprain. Reports revealed that the said injury had been brought by the sack delivered by Oakland Raiders' Aldon Smith to the quarterback. At the moment, no specific time frame has been provided with regard the recovery period for Ben Roethlisberger.

Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers opted to add depth to its roster by signing a veteran NFL star: Jacoby Jones. The veteran Pro Bowl star entered the Pittsburgh Steelers locker room following his stint with the San Diego Chargers. The entry of Jacoby Jones in the NFL team saw the departure of second-year running back and wide receiver Dri Archer.

"The biggest thing is you just can't relax with a guy like that because he's a relentless, fearless returner," shared Antwon Blake, referring to the newly minted Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver, according to Penn Live. He added, "So he'll catch the ball at the out of bounds line and he'll return it 110 yards if he has to. That's one thing I love about that dude."

The same sentiments were expressed by Jacoby Jones' fellow kick returner, Isaiah Pead. He also shared that the experience of working with a man of Jacoby Jones' caliber and wisdom will provide him with valuable lessons in the field.

"He's [an] electrifying man," described Pead. The kick returner went on to say, "He can change the game like he did in the Super Bowl and numerous other games. I'm excited to be working with him, learning from him too in the return game, get him on board and we can keep rolling."
