On offense, the Steelers have the league's sixth highest average yards per game (402), with 289 (5th) in average rush yards and 113 (19th) in rush yards. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is going 45 of 71 with 582 yards and one touchdown. Running back Le'Veon Bell has 168 rush yards and one touchdown in 32 carries.

In Week 1, the Steelers blew a 24-point lead against the Cleveland Browns, but Roethelisberger and Steelers came back and won with 27-30 in overtime. In Week 2, Pittsburgh lost to the Ravens 26-6, where they managed only two field goals and committed three turnovers in face of Joe Flacco's two touchdown passes and Ray Rice's running plays.

For Panthers, they've two winning games, and is looking for the third. In Week 2, they defeated the Lions 7-24. Cam Newton threw for 281 yards and a touchdown. He was 22 of 34 and overcame four sacks.

While Carolina played without Pro Bowl defensive end Greg Hardy, they had three takeaways and held Matthew Stafford and the Lions scoreless in the first half. This showed the Panthers' defensive prowess as Stafford and company had just put up 35 points against the Giants in the previous week.

Hardy was placed as inactive for his conviction on two counts of domestic violence on July 15.

Based on the games played so far by the two teams, the Panthers are poised to win the Sunday Night Football.
