Rumors are rife that Colin Kaepernick has been looking to land a spot in a Super Bowl contender squad. Prior to the 2016-17 NFL season,the San Francisco 49ers reportedly wanted to trade the quarterback to the Denver Broncos - a move that was then anticipated to fill the gap left by Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler. However, the entry of Mark Sanchez in the Paxton Lynch team stopped the trade talks.

For the new NFL season, it looks like another round of Colin Kaepernick contract negotiation is taking over the San Francisco 49ers. Speculations point to the quarterback's desire to just get out of the NFL team and rebuild his football career elsewhere. "We did have a great discussion and I think Colin left excited and we left excited. And I think as Kyle and I believe, the evaluation process is still very much fluid," revealed John Lynch of the team's plans on a potential new Colin Kaepernick contract. The San Francisco 49ers GM added, "We've only been on the job a couple of weeks and I can tell you we both very much enjoyed being around Colin, and he seems like he's in a real good place."
