Running back Tevin Coleman is still recovering from his injury which means he'll probably not be able to join the Atlanta Falcons in their upcoming match against the Philadelphia Eagles for Week 10. According to various reports, there's also a chance that he might not be able to return to the field this year.

Coleman suffered a hamstring injury during the Week 7 game against the San Diego Chargers. Since then, he's been on the sidelines.

The Falcons, however, have not yet provided an official timeline regarding Coleman's return, which means he could miss out on more weeks.

"We just have to find out the severity of it and find out when his strength can get back," head coach Dan Quinn said. "Let's face it: He is a guy who can haul. He'll need to have full strength for him to do what he does."

Due to Coleman's absence, it seems the Falcons are already preparing to make a major roster move to serve as a temporary replacement for the running back. As noted by Quinn, the team will most likely not turn to the free agency pool to bring in a new RB. Instead, the Falcons will rely on backup Terron Ward to take on Coleman's place.

"We're discussing that big this afternoon," he said. "Fortunately for us, Ward is here, and he's somebody that's got game experience in the system and somebody that we can totally rely on."

Aside from Ward, the team also has Devonta Freeman. But without Coleman, Freeman will have to work twice as hard in enforcing the team's defense.

Although it seems the team is quite prepared to take on Coleman's long absence, this doesn't sound well for the injured athlete. If he fails to recover soon, he could end up on the team's injured reserve list. Also, if Ward and Freeman are able to effectively serve as Coleman's replacement, the team might realize that it already has enough running backs without him on the active roster. If this happens, Coleman could end up getting waived by the team this year.
