NFL Rumors: Chicago Bears Could Sign Former New York Jets CB Dee Milliner to Replace Kyle Fuller

The Chicago Bears have placed Kyle Fuller on injured reserve, which means there's a big chance that he will miss a big chunk of the 2016 NFL season. Given the Bears' current win-less record, the team could look to signing a possible replacement for Fuller, such as Dee Milliner.

During the preseason last week, Fuller underwent surgery for his knee. Back then, the Chicago franchise was hoping that the cornerback will be able to fully recover just in time for the team's regular season opener.

However, as Week 1 rolled in, the Bears soon realized that Fuller will not be returning to the field anytime soon. After analyzing his condition, the team had no other choice but to place him on injured reserve.

News of Fuller's condition came as a very disappointing blow to the Bears, who are currently struggling to snatch their first victory this season. After all, Fuller was a first round draft pick in 2014. Going through this year without him will certainly be hard for the Bears.

However, since he is under contract with the team until 2017, losing him for the entire season doesn't sound too good for both Fuller and the Bears. Because of this, the Chicago organization might consider looking for a possible permanent replacement.

One likely candidate is Milliner, a former cornerback for the New York Jets. Fuller spent the first three weeks of the 2016 season on the Jets' injured reserve list due to his issue with his hamstring. On Wednesday, he was officially released from IR.

Since he had already been waived by the team during the 53-man roster cutdown period, getting out of the injured reserve list means he is now a free agent who can sign with any team that approaches him with an offer.

If the Bears are looking for someone who can step in for Fuller, they could offer a contract to Milliner. Although Milliner's career with the Jets was marred by injuries, he was the No. 9 overall pick during the 2013 draft. This means he has the talent and experience to perform well in any team.

And, given the Bears' current record, they need all the help they could get to turn their situation around.
