The Cincinnati Bengals had a very disappointing NFL season with only a handful of wins against equally problematic teams like the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns. Despite the promising potential of Andy Dalton, the AJ Green team had been sorely lacking in direction and chemistry. This reportedly pushed the squad to look for another leader to add in the roster.

The Cleveland Browns initially promised to offer the fresh start so coveted by Robert Griffin III following his difficult season with the Washington Redskins. However, his stint with the team proved to be only minimally less disappointing to the front office than the time they had Johnny Manziel. Hence, RG3 now once again finds himself looking for a new home.

Rumors are rife that the Cincinnati Bengals are deliberating adding a cheap RG3 contract to their roster. The free agent, who was also reportedly linked to the Dallas Cowboys, New York Jets and Denver Broncos, remains unsigned. Could playing as the backup quarterback for Andy Dalton the next move for RG3?

At the moment, no official comment has been given by the parties tagged in this NFL rumor. For the Cincinnati Bengals, the team is focusing on renewing their determination to dominate the league by next season. In fact, Andy Dalton shared that he remains confident of his group's capacity to overcome the losses they incurred in free agency.

"There's no panic on my end. I feel like we've got a lot of talent. We just have to put it all together," shared Andy Dalton of the Cincinnati Bengals.

He added, "We're going to have to figure it out. Those are big shoes to fill. Whit arguably has been the best tackle in the NFL for a while. Guys are going to have to step up and play because obviously that's a big piece of what we do."

The future of any RG3 contract in the NFL remains unclear for his fans and supporters. However, it looks like the former Cleveland Browns star continues to work out and train to be prepared for any possibility in his football career. The quarterback joins the likes of Colin Kaepernick and Johnny Manziel in the free agent market.
