The Cleveland Browns dodged a bullet when they finally released Johnny Manziel. With the exit of the problematic football star from the NFL team came the entry of Robert Griffin III. A highly talented quarterback, RG3 faced frustrating issues with the Washington Redskins which ended in his eventual release from the NFL team. Despite his vow to start anew with the Cleveland Browns and his efforts to earn the respect of his new team, Griffin remains uncertain on whether he will land a starting job with his current group.

"Robert isn't even our starting quarterback yet," declared Sashi Brown of RG3. The Cleveland Browns exec added, "He has to earn that spot. Is he another piece of our roster? Absolutely. In terms of bringing Robert to Cleveland, we're excited about the potential for him to earn that starting job. On its merits of No. 2 versus what we were able to acquire, this was the right choice for building our roster and where we sit now."

Brown further explained that the treatment for the quarterback job is similar to any other player who enters the NFL team. That is, the stars have to "earn the right to be the starter." The Cleveland Browns exec also reiterated that the front office has no intention of serving the starting quarterback position in a silver platter to anybody regardless of his talent and background.

For his part, RG3 has been widely reported to be taking his training with the Cleveland Browns seriously. To ensure that he becomes a strong contender for the starter role, Griffin has been working with Tom House. The expert, who worked in the past with the likes of Tom Brady and Drew Bees, is helping the former Washington Redskins star hone his throwing arm and develop his skills in the gridiron.

"Tom House has been great," shared Griffin of his trainer. He added, "It's been a really, really beneficial experience. You want to work with guys that have worked with the greats. Me personally and every guy in that locker room, we're not working to be average or good. We want to be great. So he's worked with Brady and Brees and a load of other guys, and they've seen success. So I wanted to take on that challenge and challenge myself to be great and try to work with a guy that knows how to make that happen."

Meanwhile, in the latest update in the troubled life of Johnny Football, sources revealed that he has been found guilty of domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley. According to KRLD-AM, a Dallas grand jury decided that Manziel failed to prove his innocence regarding the misdemeanor assault with bodily injury charges filed against him. With this decision, Johnny Football is in danger of spending almost a year in prison and will be required to pay a $4,000 penalty.
