If there is one thing that the Cleveland Browns and Robert Griffin III have in common, then that would be how they overcame a traumatic 2015-16 NFL season. For RG3, the previous season saw him humiliated by the Washington Redskins. As for the Cleveland Browns, their entire season last year had been made extra challenging courtesy of Johnny Manziel. A former Heisman Trophy winner, Johnny Football proved to be a devastating pick for the NFL team. As they prepare for the next season, it looks like both RG3 and the Cleveland Browns could not wait to have a fresh start.

However, it looks like Robert Griffin III has one major roadblock on his way to quarterback domination: Josh McCown. The 36-year-old star, who signed a three-year contract with the Cleveland Browns in 2015, is said to be a highly likely starter for the next season. With his experience in the league, McCown becomes a formidable contender for the position RG3 has been eyeing. How can the former Washington Redskins star, who is 10 years younger than the veteran, compete?

"I lived it, I know it -- quarterback competition," said Ray Farmer of the Cleveland Browns situation. The former Cleveland Browns GM added, "It's what is going to happen in Cleveland, it's what is happening now. It's the reality -- quarterback, quarterback, quarterback, quarterback. From Austin Davis toConnor Shaw to McCown and RGIII, I think the reality is that for me, I think McCown fits more of who Hue Jackson is and what will inevitably happen. He'll end up playing because he fits the mold a little bit better."

Prior to his contract with the Cleveland Browns, McCown played for Detroit Lions, Oakland Raiders, Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers. He also had a stint with the Super Bowl 50 runners-up, the Carolina Panthers, as well as with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears. McCown's NFL career started in 2002 when he was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round.

"I'm a human being and there's no doubt, you want things mapped out," shared McCown when asked of the quarterback situation in the Cleveland Browns. He added, "I don't like it, but I think it helps me get better."

As for Hue Jackson, the Cleveland Browns head coach has yet to finalize his decision. With the catastrophic Johnny Manziel drama last NFL season, it comes as no surprise that the team not only looks into the skills of the players but also their character. Given the problematic scenario of RG3 with the Washington Redskins last season, it is but natural for the Cleveland Browns to secure that no behavioral issues on or off the gridiron will once again hamper their NFL season.

What do you think? Can Robert Griffin III beat Josh McCown for the starting role? Will RG3 prove to be better in both skill and attitude than the embattled Johnny Manziel?
