The Dallas Cowboys are known to be on the verge of ending the Tony Romo era with the Houston Texans and Denver Broncos expressing interest in the veteran quarterback. With Mark Sanchez also out of the picture, the Dak Prescott team is said to be looking into trying out a Robert Griffin III contract. Will the former Cleveland Browns star be a good fit alongside Zek Elliot?

RG3 has been struggling to prove himself as a reliable quarterback following his disastrous period with the Washington Redskins and disappointing run with the Cleveland Browns. With a shortage of quarterbacks in the lead, many believe that his character and locker room attitude might be hindering the other NFL teams from signing him. Will the Dallas Cowboys be the next landing spot where RG3 can finally show off his skills in the gridiron?

"And yes, it is true that there probably is not another starting job - or even another opportunity to vie for a starting job - awaiting Griffin elsewhere," said Mark Maske of the Washington Post. "But, keep in mind, there is a shortage of quality quarterbacks in the NFL. Plenty of teams need a starter. Others need a backup. There are plenty of underwhelming quarterbacks around the league."

Rumors are rife that the Dallas Cowboys are considering a Robert Griffin III contract. Although many think that this might not be a good idea, some fans feel that the quarterback will be a good backup for Dak Prescott. The passion and determination of RG3 to prove his critics wrong also serve as fuel for him to perform better than he had in the past season. At this point though, no official comment has been given by the parties tagged in the NFL rumor.

The resounding success of the debut season of Dak Prescott has made the Dallas Cowboys a heavy favorite earlier in the NFL season. While fans initially thought that the season had been lost from the Tony Romo injury problems, the then rookie quarterback and Zek Elliot swooped in to save the day. Will a Robert Griffin III contract be the final factor to push them to a Super Bowl championship run next season?

What do you think? Should the Dallas Cowboys seriously consider a Robert Griffin III contract this season? Will RG3 be a good addition to the Dak Prescott and Zek Elliot team?
