The Dallas Cowboys had a rough NFL season. Apart from the abrupt end of the Super Bowl 50 journey, the football team faced many serious issues that rattled the squad to its core. These concerns include the repeat injuries of Tony Romo and Dez Bryant. The legal battles of Greg Hardy also contributed to their woes. However, one of the biggest and most heartbreaking problems for the Dallas Cowboys is Joseph Randle.

Fans of the Dallas Cowboys saw the rise to the starting lineup of Randle. From serving as the backup of DeMarco Murray, the running back pushed pass Lance Dunbar in the squad. Randle then cemented his starter status when Murray opted out of the Dallas Cowboys and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. However, his growth as one of the key members of the football team came to a stop mid-season.

Randle was plagued with issues during the regular NFL season. These ranged from theft charges to domestic violence allegations. However, the situation escalated when the Dallas Cowboys that the running back had been behaving in an odd manner. To remedy the situation, the NFL team offered Randle outside help. This was refused by the running back.

"All of that became apparent to us right during the season," said Jerry Jones via Dallas News, referring to the allegations thrown against Randle. The Dallas Cowboys owner added, "Not before the season. It became real acute, a combination of things. Some issues became more apparent."

Jones further commented, "We didn't just rely on him. That's why we brought McFadden in. McFadden stepped up and did a heck of a job, so I feel like we backstopped ourselves from the standpoint of the team."

Another allegation that is now emerging in relation to Randle is sports gambling. Source claim that the former Dallas Cowboys running back may have gambled in NFL games during his tenure with the football team. However, Jones insists that no conclusive evidence has been presented with regard Randle's gambling.

The Dallas Cowboys owner shared, "There are certain types of gambling that you can't do as a player. Obviously you can't be involved in anything that we're competing in, and I've never heard of anything like that."

For his part, Randle denies any gambling accusation alleged against him.

"Joseph Randle in text message regarding sports gambling accusations says: 'No truth at all,'" shared Drew Davison of Star Telegram via Twitter.

The same sentiment was echoed by Greg Aiello. The NFL spokesperson announced that the league has yet to receive concrete evidence in relation to Randle's gambling problems. He stated, "We have never had any information relayed to us alleging that Joseph Randle bet on sports."

Meanwhile, Jones remains optimistic that the running back will still get better. With the kind words from the Dallas Cowboys owner, some fans are hopeful that Randle could get re-signed by the football team soon.

"I really want him to get straightened around, and obviously he's working on it," said Jones of Randle and the running back's future.
