The Dallas Cowboys broke the hearts of their fans in the NFL when Tony Romo exited Week 2 with an injured collarbone. Although the leader of the Dez Bryant squad heroically attempted a comeback in their game against the Carolina Panthers, the Romo and his team were no match for the forces of Cam Newton and Michael Oher. However, Jerry Jones is determined to not let the same thing happen this coming NFL season. Hence, the search for Romo's backup is on. The call for a reliable quarterback to sub for Romo has attracted attention across the league with initial reports pointing to the likes of Robert Griffin III, Brock Osweiler and Ryan Fitzpatrick. Even the troubled Johnny Manziel was included in the mix. At this point though, only two names in the free agency market are reportedly left for consideration - Michael Vick and Tim Tebow.

The entry of Vick in the free agent market came as a surprise as the 2001 top NFL Draft pick was initially thought to have retired. With his recent announcement, however, it looks like the former four-time Pro Bowl star wants a final hoorah in the gridiron. According to the ex-Pittsburgh Steelers star, he wants to play for the NFL one last time before hanging his cleats for good.

"I'm 35, about to turn 36," shared Vick. He added, "I've got one more dedicated season in my blood, if somebody needs me to come in. But I'm kind of happy where I am right now. I've got my health, I've got my kids, I've got my family. The game has done so much for me in terms of relationships, opportunities to take care of myself and my family. I'm just thankful. I give all the credit to God."

With this recent announcement, the Dallas Cowboys are reportedly looking into signing Vick as sub for Romo. Although Romo announced that his collarbone injury has healed nicely, the NFL team undoubtedly wants to ensure that a veteran presence will be there to pick up where he might leave if he gets re-injured. Does this mean that Vick will get the job? If the reports are to be believed, will the 35-year-old battle it out against the equally popular Tim Tebow?

"The media has barely gotten started," commented Rick Gosselin of the speculations linking football stars to the Dallas Cowboys. He added, "Every elite player in America is liable to be rumored to be coming to the Cowboys. That's the nature of this franchise and this fan base. No stone -- or, rather, player -- will be left unturned."

At the moment, it looks like the Dallas Cowboys have not yet made a decision regarding Romo and his potential substitute. However, Jason Garrett earlier shared the qualities the NFL team search for in signing a quarterback. According to the Dallas Cowboys head coach, a "feel for the game" is important for any leader in their roster.

"One of the things we talk about as a must for that position is instinct and feel for the game. Great quarterbacks come in all shapes and sizes. I'm not so sure I've ever seen a great quarterback who wasn't instinctive in some way," Garrett shared. "You can ask what the manifestation of instinct is. It's just a guy who has a feel for the game, a feel for competing, a feel for people around him, a way to kind of function and help his team move the ball, score points and win games."

Who has a better "feel for the game?" The young and fresh former Heisman Trophy winner or the veteran 2003 Best NFL Player ESPY Award recipient? Should the Dallas Cowboys go for the tried and tested Michael Vick or give a chance to the widely loved Tim Tebow?
