The Dallas Cowboys stunned the NFL world when the Dez Bryant squad managed to dominate the league despite facing Tony Romo injury issues early in the season. With rookie Dak Prescott leading the football squad, no one was the wiser when the quarterback and fellow newcomer Ezekiel Elliot topped the stats in almost all the games. While these achievements spell a great future for Jerry Jones’ team, it looks like these will also signal the end of an era.

The Tony Romo retirement stories immediately dominated the front pages when experts saw the Dak Prescott stats in the 2016-17 NFL season. However, it looks like the veteran quarterback still has a few years up his sleeve. Although the Dallas Cowboys fans cling to the possibility of their beloved leader to get back in shape, this seems highly improbable. Hence, the Dak Prescott team is reportedly open to Tony Romo trade offers in the league.

"He [Dak Prescott] gets it. He doesn't act, talk like a rookie. He acts and talks like a guy whose been in the league four or five years,” shared Shannon Sharpe of the Dallas Cowboys rookie quarterback.

With this in mind, sources also revealed that Jerry Jones might still come off as a happy man. Since a Tony Romo contract will be out of the way, the Dallas Cowboys are anticipated to have enough cap space to sign new stars to support Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot. Rumors are rife that the Dez Bryant team might see a familiar figure in their locker rooms soon as a Johnny Manziel contract is expected to come out of the offseason.

Reports note that Jerry Jones has never truly let go of his desire to see Johnny Football back in the gridiron. The Dallas Cowboys exec is one of the very few people in the NFL who actually took intense interest in the Heisman Trophy winner. His vote to sign a Johnny Manziel contract had been rejected in the past due to the age of Tony Romo and the unreliability of the former Cleveland Browns quarterback. However, the entry of Dak Prescott in the Dallas Cowboys appears to have reduced the need for a young backup. Hence, a Johnny Manziel contract might actually happen soon.
