Shortly after the Denver Broncos announced that they have released Mark Sanchez, the Dallas Cowboys revealed that they have signed him. The problem here, however, is that the Cowboys has not yet finalized their contract with Sanchez.

Prematurely announcing Sanchez's signing could have repercussions for the Cowboys. As reported by Philly.com, this could be considered as a violation of the NFL's tampering rules. If a violation did occur, then the Dallas franchise could be slapped with a fine or lose a future draft pick.

But, regardless of whether or not the Dallas franchise violated the league's rules, the announcement made by the Cowboys clearly indicate that they have been in talks with Sanchez days before he was released by the Broncos.

This strongly indicates that quarterback Tony Romo's injury has had a huge impact on the Cowboys' lineup. But, with only days before the 2016 NFL kicks off, it seems the Dallas organization has found a suitable replacement to the injured athlete.

As noted by NBC Sports, the Broncos' decision to cut Sanchez from the team stems from the fact that he lost his starting position as quarterback.
Previously, it was assumed that the team would force him to take a pay cut in order to remain in the roster as a third-string QB. It is not yet clear if the team really did this or if Sanchez refused to take a salary decrease. But either way, the Broncos have made their decision to maintain Paxton Lynch and Trevor Siemian as their quarterbacks.

Aside from these two, the team also recently added Austin Davis as a backup QB. According to Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak, the Broncos chose former the former Cleveland Browns QB instead of Sanchez because the team decided to go in a different direction.

"We just made a decision to go in a different direction," he told reporters. "Mark's obviously had a lot of experience and stuff, but we went young at the quarterback position so that's why we also brought in Austin in here."

"We have confidence in these guys and we'll go to work," he added. "We wish Mark all of the best. He was a true professional and a great person through everything."
