With the final year of his contract coming up, the terms have to be renegotiated especially in light of the salary-cap costs.

"I've got, obviously, a very strong relationship with the Saints," shared Brees in response to a question regarding his stint with the NFL team. The quarterback added, "So talks are ongoing, and I don't know if that is something that will be done next week or before the end of the year or next year or when. But obviously, I want to be a Saint for the rest of my career, and I think I've got a lot of good years left."

Over the years, Bees has been regarded as the best free agent any NFL team has ever signed. Most sports analysts believe that the quarterback has not only brought about a revolution in the New Orleans Saints locker room but also in the entire state.

"I don't think it's possible to have a better free-agent signing than New Orleans and Drew Brees," noted Bernie Miklasz. Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints also locked in another key component in their system - Sean Payton. The working relationship of Payton and Bees has been known as one of the most widely successful tandems in the NFL. Both complement the other, leaving very little room for spat and locker room drama. "There's so much of you in there, that I don't see myself working anywhere else," revealed Payton. He added, "There's been really good stability and consistency at ownership. That stability, obviously, I don't take for granted."
