During Sunday's loss against the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick briefly exited the game due to an injury to his knee. Although he was able to return to finish the game, the athlete is scheduled to undergo MRI to evaluate his current condition.

Fitzpatrick received a low hit during the third quarter from Dolphins defensive tackle Jordan Philips. He was then escorted to the sidelines as he nursed his knee. His backup Bryce Petty was brought to replace him.

Then, a few minutes later, Fitzpatrick returned to the field to finish the game. Unfortunately, the Jets still lost to the Dolphins with a final score of 23 to 27.
Although Fitzpatrick appeared fine following the match, he has been ordered by the Jets to undergo MRI for his injured knee. Fitzpatrick, however, declined to provide details on regarding the nature of his current condition.

"[The doctors] evaluated and made the call, giving me all the options, and then we go from there," he said.

Depending on the results of the MRI, there's a chance that Fitzpatrick might miss out on the Week 10 game against the Los Angeles Rams. This means the Jets will have to turn to Petty once again to serve as their main passer.

However, if things don't work out well for Fitzpatrick, his injury could mark the early end for his season with the team. This scenario also doesn't work well for the rest of the New York squad because that would mean that would place their two main quarterbacks on injured reserve.

As supporters of the Jets know, Fitzpatrick started the season as the team's starting quarterback, before he was replaced by Geno Smith. However, due to Smith's recent injury, the New York team once again appointed Fitzpatrick to the No. 1 spot.

But, if Fitzpatrick's injury turns out to be serious, he could end up on the inactive list with Smith. That means the Jets will be left without a veteran quarterbacks at their disposal. And, given the way they are playing right now, the team's losing record could worsen without their its main passers.
