The Seattle Seahawks are on top of their game this season despite the hole left by Marshawn Lynch last season. Under the leadership of Russell Wilson, the Kam Chancellor squad has been thriving and is the top seed in the NFC West. However, the Richard Sherman team has yet to beat the Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions to once again get a shot at the Super Bowl. With this in mind, the front office is anticipated to sign a Geno Smith trade to ensure that the team does not lose its momentum.

Russell Wilson has been remarkably healthy throughout his NFL career. While other quarterbacks, such as Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys, Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers and Trevor Siemian of the Denver Broncos, have been suffering from critical health issues, the Seattle Seahawks star has been breezing through season after season. However, it looks like the front office feels that they must not be too comfortable with the situation as talks are widespread over a potential Geno Smith trade soon.

Rumors are rife that the New York Jets would no longer need Geno Smith in their roster. With Ryan Fitzpatrick showing that he was worth the long salary standoff last offseason, the team no longer sees the backup as a valuable asset. Hence, the former premier NFL draft pick might not have a football team to play for by next season. This reportedly opened the door for a potential Geno Smith trade with the Seattle Seahawks.

Fans believe that the New York Jets would try to execute a Geno Smith trade before his contract expires so they could still get something in return. While a lot of other NFL teams are in dire need of a good quarterback, such as the San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos and Philadelphia Eagles, the Seattle Seahawks seem to be the best fit for the star. One of the main reasons for this is the personality and leadership skills of Russell Wilson.

"He's very uplifting, very positive," shared Doug Baldwin of Russell Wilson. The wide receiver added, "He never had any doubt. He kept saying the whole time, 'Just one play at a time, we're going to come back in it.' And so, he continues to have that positive mindset throughout the course of the game no matter the circumstances."

At the moment, no official comment has been given by the parties concerned. However, fans of the embattled New York Jets quarterback seem to think that a Geno Smith trade to the Seattle Seahawks would be ideal. What do you think?
