The Seattle Seahawks are in the midst of a quarterback crisis. While Russell Wilson remains one of the most promising leaders in the NFL, potentially joining the ranks of Tom Brady of the New England Patriots, Drew Bees of the New Orleans Saints and Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys, the Kam Chancellor team is still in a delicate situation come the next season. With Tarvaris Jackson possibly out or suspended soon, the Seattle Seahawks are said to be eyeing Carson Wentz as the sub of Russell Wilson in the gridiron.

The rookie, who was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason, is expected to play behind Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel in the incoming NFL season. While experts believe that this is a strategy for the Fletcher Cox team to train the young quarterback better, some fear that missing out on the action in the gridiron might push the North Dakota State alum to seek better opportunities elsewhere. That is, Carson Wentz might be tempted to look at the possibility of seeking a trade to be able to have hands on experience in the NFL games quickly next season.

At the moment, it looks like the Seattle Seahawks fit the bill. If Carson Wentz does want to have more minutes in the field, going to the former Marshawn Lynch squad as the second quarterback of Russell Wilson could give him just that. Moreover, the danger of losing backup Tarvaris Jackson is looming over the NFL team this offseason. Hence, pursuing a young and healthy quarterback to play as reserve for Wilson will be a good investment for Doug Peterson.

Earlier this month, Tarvaris Jackson was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill. The Seattle Seahawks star got into the mess following a domestic problem with his wife in their home in Kissimmee, Florida. According to police reports, Jackson allegedly threatened to kill his wife with a loaded gun. The Seattle Seahawks star pleaded not guilty in the case.

With this in mind, the Seattle Seahawks are reportedly scrambling to look at possible replacements for Tarvaris Jackson. Will a massive trade involving Carson Wentz be a good idea to solve the Russell Wilson backup dilemma?

"The kid has potential, no doubt about that,'' noted an NFC exec of Carson Wentz. The unnamed personnel added, "But I don't think he's close to being ready to go out and start. That's my opinion, but it sounds like it's their opinion, too. I never want to play a rookie (quarterback) right away and especially a guy coming from where he came. That's a really big jump. Give him time, let him watch and learn. What's the rush?''

Right now, no official comment has been given by the parties involved. However, it would be interesting to see how Carson Wentz could develop under the guidance of Russell Wilson in the Seattle Seahawks. Will it be better than learning from Sam Bradford in the Philadelphia Eagles?
