Earlier this week, the Minnesota Vikings announced that Teddy Bridgewater has suffered a torn ACL and will sit out the entire 2016 NFL season. Without a starting quarterback, the Vikings could look to getting Mark Sanchez from the Denver Broncos.

On Tuesday, the Vikings revealed that Bridgewater got injured during the team's practice. Due to the seriousness of the quarterback's injury, the team will most likely enter the upcoming season without its main passer, according to Sportsnaut.

Backing up the 23-year-old athlete are Shaun Hill, Joel Stave and Brad Sorensen. Although it would seem that the Vikings' QB bench runs pretty deep, the problem here is that none of these players can probably the experience carried by Bridgewater.

For one, both Sorensen and Stave are still rookies. The former joined the NFL in 2013 but has not yet participated in an official game. In August this year, he was signed by the Vikings but was then released before the month ended. He was recently re-signed by the team shortly after Bridgewater's injury.

Stave, on the other hand just joined the team this year and like Sorensen, he has not yet played in a regular game in the NFL.

As for Hill, he may have the veteran experience to lead a team but at 36 years old, he might not be as fast and strong as Bridgewater.

Due to these limited options, the Vikings could look for a new QB outside of their roster.

Given their current predicament, they could sign Sanchez from the Broncos. Earlier this week, it was reported that the QB is in danger of getting waived by the team after he lost his starting spot with the Denver franchise.

As noted by ESPN, Sanchez lost his position to Trevor Siemian. The Broncos will still have to determine if Sanchez or Paxton Lynch will serve as Siemian's backup.

If Sanchez ends up as a third-string QB, then the Broncos will most likely force him to take a pay cut of about $3.5 million. If he refuses to do so, then he could end up getting waived by the team.

Since the Vikings are in serious need for a quarterback, they could go after Sanchez through a possible trade deal with the Broncos. Another option for the team would be to hope and wait for Sanchez to get cut then offer him a new contract.
