The fallout between Josh Norman and the Carolina Panthers came as a shock since both parties initially expressed their desire to keep working with each other for the next season. Given the spectacular rise of the NFL team and their impressive performance in the Super Bowl 50 versus the Denver Broncos, the release of the cornerback blindsided the fans and the football community. However, it looks like Norman had no problem landing a new team that even offered to him higher than how much the Carolina Panthers were prepared to offer. Should Cam Newton and Michael Oher follow suit?

In his interviews following his deal with the Washington Redskins, Norman shared how he was wooed by the NFL team. The cornerback disclosed how the deal looked like a ring from Tiffany's. Norman further admitted that apart from the offer, the Washington Wizards established an early chemistry with him. Hence, both parties had a good discussion during the early stages of their negotiations.

"I started looking like, 'Man, we're really here in Tiffany's right now,'" shared Norman of his contract-signing process with the Washington Wizards. He added, "They had a big diamond, Tiffany ring right there on the table. I sure wasn't just gawking at it. I was like, 'Yeah man, everything looks good to me. Y'all had a playoff team. Y'all was on the rise, y'all had great players in your locker room.' Man, yeah, I say I do to you guys and they said I do to me. We ended up marrying. I know it's a heartbreak for my girlfriend in Carolina, but shoot, when you come into a team like this, man, we ended up clicking and hitting it off when we first saw each other, and he ended up giving me that Tiffany ring and I said I do. I couldn't be any happier to be a part of this team."

Does this mean that the rest of the Carolina Panthers should reconsider their decision to stay with the Super Bowl 50 runner-up team? If Norman managed to snag a massive contract from the Washington Redskins, fans wonder how much Cam Newton would rake in. Given the need for a good quarterback in the league will Cam Newton consider demanding for higher pay soon?

Amid the talks on his lucrative deal with the Washington Redskins, Norman earlier shared how he felt about the abrupt exit he experienced in the hands of the Carolina Panthers. According to the cornerback, he even wanted to re-negotiate with his former NFL team since his agent failed to keep him abreast of the situation. However, the Carolina Panthers refused to budge.

"I asked [Gettleman] what was up. Shoot, I dedicated all my life there, put in blood and tears. He was like, 'Yeah, man. I'm sorry. Your agent is a reflection of you,'" revealed Norman. He then added, "It sucks it had to come down to this when I didn't know anything about it. Hey, man, I gave it my all. We'll see this year how it plays out for them. Good luck with Julio [Jones] and all the big twin towers over there in Tampa Bay."
