The league's trade deadline has been set for Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET and trade rumors have begun to go in full swing. One of the players rumored to be moved to Philadelphia ahead of the deadline is defensive end Vinny Curry, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

This is not the first instance that Curry has been speculated to be on the trading block. He has been rumored to be moved ever since Chip Kelly took over as the Eagles head coach in 2013. At 6'3", 279 pounds, the outside linebacker is said to be too undersized for an every-down role at the end. Moreover, he is not seen as versatile enough to line up at linebacker on a consistent basis, CSN Philly pointed out.

If Philadelphia is indeed moving Curry, the player himself apparently does not know anything about it. "I haven't heard anything. That's crazy," Curry replied, via NJ Advance Media, when his supposed trade was mentioned to him.

Curry is slated to become an unrestricted free agent as the current season ends. Part of the reason the team might be interested in dealing him is due to their already sufficient depth at defensive end. Fletcher Cox and Cedric Thornton have both performed well. Second-year defensive lineman Taylor Hart, as well as Brandon Bair, also played efficiently earlier this season.

In other Eagles news, former Pennsylvania governor and Philadelphia mayor Ed Rendell was recently on a Talk Radio 1210 WPHT radio show. While discussing his preview of the previous Republican primary debate, the ex-Philly mayor also tackled the state of the Eagles's roster.

He revealed his opinion regarding Philadelphia's quarterback Sam Bradford, saying that he would prefer that the team trade him for the San Francisco 49ers' quarterback Colin Kaepernick. "One thing is clear, Sam Bradford is not, in my judgment, the quarterback of the future for the Eagles. What I would like to see us get at the end of the year, I'm told that San Francisco is going to be looking to trade Kaepernick, and I think in Chip Kelly's system, Kaepernick could be the perfect quarterback because he can run," Rendell explained.

While the former mayor's verdict does not have much weight on the team's roster decisions, he does echo what fans have voiced out since San Francisco lost to Seattle on October 22. The 49ers quarterback has received criticism after that loss, which dropped his team's standing to 2-5. In Philadelphia, Bradford is tied for the league's lead with 11 interceptions, and the Eagles (3-4) have appeared static on offense for much of the season.
