Paper Mario Color Splash Announced For Wii U

While fans wait for announcement of the next Legend of Zelda and Pokémon, Nintendo revealed new set of games for Wii U and 3DS this year. The latest Nintendo Direct unveiled Paper Mario: Color Smash and Kirby: Planet Robobot.

Many Nintendo fans applauded the company's new titles that are set to be released this year. One of the most talked about titles is the Paper Mario: Color Smash, which expected to launch in late 2016, as per report from the Verge.

As the name suggests, Color Splash players have to paint a monochrome world. They can also explore around the Prism Island with paint hammer to bring color to the island. In addition, they can smash their friends to bring life, and smash their enemies to take it away.

All of the characters in the Paper Mario series are two-dimensional beings, walking around in a mostly three-dimensional world. The previous games of the series -- 2012's Sticker Star and 2015's Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam -- were released on 3Ds.

Planet Robobot, on the other hand, will arrive on 3DS on June 10th, according to Engadget. The game uses a 2.5D perspective where players can hop between different depth planes in the sidescroller. Also, players can suck up enemies to get access to their specific abilities. Nintendo announced the game will have Amiibo support.

The Amiibo figures will allow players to unlock different abilities and in-game items. The new line of Kirby amiibo is expected to be available on June also. Some of the upcoming figures are Kirby itself, King Dedede, Meta Knight and Waddle Dee. Furthermore, Planet Robobot has multiplayer mode, dubbed "Team Kirby Clash," where four players have to fight against bosses in arena battles.

Aside from the titles above, Nintendo Direct revealed new details about Star Fox: Zero, and Rhythm Heaven. The presentation also announced pre-order bonuses for Hyrule Warriors Legends and Bravely Second.

Meanwhile, some fans are upset because Nintendo did not mention any new details about Legend of Zelda, which is expected to land on Wii U video console this year. Nintendo is still mum about the developments of the game, but for sure we'll hear more from the company in the next few months.
