It seems like Nintendo is looking to the future while remembering the past. After the announcement of next-generation NX console, the Japanese gaming company is now teasing gamers for the upcoming new-old system called NES Classic Mini console.

GameSpot reported the launching of NES: Classic Edition will happen on Nov. 11. The console will be sold with 30 well-known games from the NES's library, such as Pac-Man, Metroid, Mega Man 2 and The Legend of Zelda.

The NES Controller will come with a Wii Remote connector, meaning users can plug it to a Wii Remote to play Virtual Console games on Wii or Wii U. Additional controllers will be available for only $10 each. For those who don't want to use the included gamepad, they can connect a Classic Controller to the NES: Classic Edition.

Furthermore, buyers can connect the console to their TV by using HDMI cable. On the back of the console, there are two ports: HDMI and DC-in.

Nintendo's NES: Classic Edition will become available later this year with $60 price tag. The console is now on display at San Diego Comic Con.

Now, let's check out Nintendo's most long-teased console, the NX. Rumors around the internet claim the console will be a hybrid device that is both home gaming system and handheld gadget.

A report from The Week picks up the rumors, saying Nintendo filed a patent earlier this year for a device that "can draw additional processing from other computing devices". The patent hints the NX can be connected to a powerful gaming console to boost its computing abilities.

Furthermore, the NX console could be become available with pre-installed applications, so users can also carry it around as they do on other mobile devices. Tech experts say the versatility of NX console could be one of its major selling points.

During Ubisoft's quarterly earnings conference call earlier this week, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot shared his thoughts about the NX. "What we have seen is really great," he explained. The console should also "help the industry continue to grow," by bringing "more casual players back" into the gaming industry.

Guillemot's statement doesn't reveal much about the specs and features of the console, but it gives clues about its target market: casual players. Nintendo's biggest console success is the original Wii, which is accessible to non-traditional gamers because of its easy-to-use controls. It is interesting to see how Nintendo would make NX console appealing to gamers. The launching of NX will happen on March 2017.
