Know Nintendo's upcoming products The Verge

Nintendo’s upcoming console, the Nintendo NX, has no concrete release date just yet, although March 2017 has been the general time frame bandied about for a long time now. You can be sure that there will be a fair number of Nintendo fans as well as conspiracy theorists who would look for a chance to come up with something, or latch on to anything that has to do with the Nintendo NX.

Papa John’s had some folks in stitches at Nintendo’s expense, where the pizza delivery chain tweeted that “Something Better is coming.” this October 10, with the shadow of a box expertly taken as though it was a black colored Wii of yore standing up. After all, don’t gamers survive on plenty of soft drinks and pizza for nourishment as they hack and slash their way through the latest adventure?

When taken out of context, this is definitely a joke worth laughing over. Nintendo has remained mum on the Nintendo NX situation to date, with over a year passing ever since the console was announced to be in the pipeline. We sure hope the Nintendo NX would not end up like some sort of Emperor’s new clothes! Perhaps those who have been looking high and low for anything to do with the Nintendo NX would have found some sort of secret reveal through Papa John’s tweet that you see above.

Regardless, it is less than half a year before March 2017 calls it quits, so there should not be too long a time left to wait for fans of the upcoming console. You can be sure that as the Nintendo NX draws nearer to its official release date, it will definitely get the community talking. Similar to how they managed to turn the NES Classic Edition into a major talking point, bringing 8-bit graphics to the era of HDMI connectivity. You can also choose to tide yourself over in the mean time with the release of Pokémon Sun and Moon this coming November.

The Nintendo NX is touted to be hybrid console which will be of the handheld variety. Another feature about the Nintendo NX might have just leaked out by YouTube personality boogie2988. Via his so called connections in the industry, boogie2988 mentioned at Retropalooza recently that "I've talked to people [at Ubisoft] who have used [the NX]...He said...Let's say you could play Assassin's Creed once you have your handheld plugged into your console. And then, you could then detach the thing and take it with you and play the Assassin's Creed mobile game out of your pocket.”

Apart from that, the Nintendo NX was also described to be some sort of “taking a form of the game with you as you go.” If this be true, you can be darn sure that there will be no such high powered console that will go up against the PS4 and Xbox One. It should be a whole lot more affordable that either Sony or Microsoft's console though.
