Reports surfaced last month that No Man's Sky is set to be released simultaneously for PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Windows PC platforms. The upcoming title, which is a science fiction adventure game from developer Hello Games, was originally announced back in 2013.

No Man's Sky is "nearly here"

UK-based developer and publisher Hello Games, the studio who also crafted the popular Joe Danger series, first announced No Man's Sky at the VGX 2013 event. The next year it was highlighted by Sony during its press event at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) 2014, and then shown off again at E3 2015 last month. After that much fanfare, we still have yet to hear an exact release date for the game.

However, Hello Games programmer Sean Murray has talked about the game's actual release a few weeks ago, albeit in a frustratingly vague manner. Murray spoke to Italian video game-centric site Multiplayer.it and discussed a little about his experience at the recently concluded E3 2015 at Los Angeles. He revealed that No Man's Sky's release date is "nearly here," suggesting an apparent 2015 release, but opted not to divulge any more clues. So what exactly is No Man's Sky about? A quick browse of the game's webs ite tells us that it's a science-fiction game that allows players to explore and survive in an infinite, procedurally generated universe. It means that solar systems and planets will be built as you play, and each will be different from the next.

Moreover, there is no storyline to No Man's Sky. It is intended to be entertaining enough for players to do whatever they want, As such, everyone's experience of the game will be unique. For instance, players can decide to become traders who transport goods between space stations and planets, or they can become fighters who attack traders' ships.

Aside from this concept, the title has been shrouded in a lot of mystery. The idea looked exciting enough, but its developers were surprisingly mum about how to make use of it all. We knew exploration was essential to the game, but will there be any space combat in it? Can we play with friends? This 86-second trailer displays No Man's Sky's color and engaging open-world platform where every planet is generated in random. As you can see, this newly unveiled clip features just some of the millions of unique planets that players can discover and visit during their virtual stay in the game.

Despite the new video being circulated, it is disappointing to learn that it still does not provide any hint regarding the game's release date. Ever since it was first shown at last year's E3, the game's release date has been a cause for debate. Even while knowing this, Murray still chose to say that "the release date is nearly here, that's all I can say."

In another interview, GameSpot reported that Murray and the game's development team initially planned to announce when it will come out at the E3 event last month but decided not to at the last minute. While it is confirmed that No Man's Sky will launch on PC and the PS4 at the same time, some folks also believe it is unlikely that an Xbox One version of the upcoming title will be released.
