With Otto Porter of the Washington Wizards bound to become a free agent next year, there will certainly a lot of teams that will benefit in acquiring him. These include the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he could serve as an effective partner for Russell Westbrook.

Right now, there are no official reports yet if the Thunder are interested in engaging in a trade deal with the Wizards for Porter. But, since the Washington franchise will lose him to free agency next year, they might as well get something out of him in return by trading him before his contract expires, Thunderous Intentions reported.

If the Wizards decide to put Porter on the trading block, OKC would be wise to immediately step forward and offer trade options to Washington.

After losing Kevin Durant to the Golden State Warriors during the offseason, the Thunder have found themselves in need of another player who can excite fans and put points on the scoreboard. Sure, Westbrook is already doing this but pairing him up with Porter would have a huge impact on the OKC organization.

Also, like Durant, the Wizards small forward is a very versatile player who's capable of being an effective defensive and offensive member of any team. And, given his young age, he will certainly still get better under the right basketball program.

But aside from the Thunder, the trade will also greatly benefit Porter. Through a trade, Porter will no longer be exposed to the toxic environment currently brewing in Washington due to the conflict between its star players.

Before the regular season started, John Wall admitted that he and Bradley Beal dislike each other.

"I think a lot of times we have a tendency to dislike each other on the court," Wall said according to CSN Mid-Atlantic. "We got to be able to put that to the side. If you miss somebody on one play or don't have something go right... as long as you come to each other and talk."

"If I start arguing with somebody I'm cool," he added. "I'm just playing basketball."

As for Porter, it's as if he's happy flying under the radar, while doing his own thing in Washington. But, if he gets traded to OKC, there's a big chance that he will become the NBA's next big star.
