On Sunday, July 11, days after the Senate began talks on amending the constitution to include a traditional definition of marriage, the Fantastic Four of evangelical pro-lifers - Dr. James Dobson, Chuck Colson, Tony Perkins and Ken Hutchinson – organized their second Battle for Marriage rally. This time, held at the Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis Tennessee, the rally delivered one prime message: call your senators and make them know you want the amendment. Sponsored in part by the National Association of Evangelicals and Southern Baptist Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, the second Battle drew the attendance of 10,000, and several thousands more via audio, television and internet.
