Operation Blessing Delivers Ten Tons of Relief Supplies to Qinghai

by April 17th, Hong Kong-based Christian charity Operation Blessing have partnered with churches in Xining to deliver 10 tons of disaster relief supplies, including tents, blankets, food and water, medications, and electricity generators, to the central earthquake disaster zone in Yushu County, mountainous far western China.

According to rescue headquarters on Wednesday the death toll from the 6.9 magnitude quake has climbed to almost 2, 200 with 84 people still missing. While snow started falling early Thursday and more was expected through Saturday, the search and rescue efforts have become more difficult and the lives of the disaster victims will become even more difficult.

OBHK urged the public to help the Tibetans who are going through the most difficult period in their lives. All of the donations will be used towards the emergency relief and reconstruction projects, which will be planned according to the needs in the disaster zone.
