Since the mammoth success of The Walking Dead on AMC, it seems right to take other material by the same creator and adapt it as well.  Robert Kirkman is the original creator of the graphic novel series for The Walking Dead, but he has also created a supernatural horror story with Outcast, which has been adapted into a series with international syndication rights from Fox.  The show is actually going to appear on social networks like Facebook and YouTube before it is given its proper introduction when it comes to Cinemax. 

It is possible to watch the pilot episode now before it debuts at the beginning of next month.  Check out the link below as well as the trailer.  Outcast is the story of Kyle Barnes (Patrick Fugit), a man who has loved ones that are possessed demonically.  This has happened to Barnes as a child, and he seeks to unveil what is going on with these possessions with the help of Reverend Anderson (Philip Glenister). 

Unlike The Walking Dead, Outcast has not had over 100 issues.  In fact, the series is quite young with only 18 issues at this present time.  At this present time, there are plans to make 10 episodes of the series, which would probably cover half of what the comic books cover, assuming that one issue equals one episode. 

One of the problems that have plagued The Walking Dead is that the monthly comic book series was very slow in its pacing, and it would take a year before anything really happened.  The pacing has to be faster for a television show, and it looks like the show is slowly catching up to the comic book after a few more seasons. 

There probably isn't going to be an end to The Walking Dead anytime soon, but Kirkman revealed that he has an end in sight with Outcast.  What could end up happening is that he could write the comic for a year, then have the series cover the previous year.  In this manner, those that have read the comics will know what will happen ahead of time on the show.  Unless the show departs from the source material, as The Walking Dead has been guilty of that on several occasions. 

Besides Kirkman, it is nearly impossible to not compare Outcast to The Walking Dead.  If you watch the opening credit sequence for Outcast, it has the same look as the credits for The Walking Dead.  In fact, the dismal tone and ruined setting are practically a direct match.  Outcast resembles another show that AMC is doing that is based on a supernatural graphic novel with Preacher. 

According to Engadget, Outcast debuted on Facebook Live in Europe and Africa last Friday night.  This is the first time that Facebook has hosted a TV series.  The series is given its proper beginning on Friday, June 3^rd on Cinemax at 10 PM.  However, it looks like the pilot episode has been leaked deliberately and can be watched on the YouTube site here.
